Docker & NAS

Docker & NAS Setup

Docker, NAS, and headless Linux builds are on the roadmap for always-on archiving. The public launch build is Windows only.

Coming Soon: Docker and headless Linux support are in active development. StreamStash currently runs on Windows only, and this page will be updated when those builds are ready.

Current Availability

Today, StreamStash runs as a Windows desktop app with a local web UI, system tray integration, bundled helper tools, and local storage. You do not need to run Python or maintain a server to use the current release.

What To Use Now

If you want an always-on archive today, install StreamStash on a Windows machine and set your recordings directory to a large local drive, external drive, or mounted network share. Remote access can be handled safely with Tailscale while Docker/NAS builds are being prepared.

Tip: See the Remote Access guide if you want to check your Windows StreamStash dashboard from another device without exposing it to the public internet.
