Our Commitment
StreamStash is built on the principle that your data is yours. The Software runs entirely on your hardware — we have no access to your downloads, your library, or your usage patterns within the app.
What We Collect
On this website (streamstash.live)
- Traffic analytics (Umami) — we use Umami, a privacy-focused, cookie-free analytics tool, to understand page views, traffic sources, and device types. No personally identifiable information is collected, no cookies are set, and no data is shared with third parties. Umami is GDPR compliant without requiring consent.
- Behaviour analytics (Microsoft Clarity) — we use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors interact with this website only (streamstash.live) through anonymised heatmaps and session recordings. Clarity is not present in the StreamStash desktop application — it has no visibility into the app, your downloads, your library, or anything on your machine. Clarity may set first-party cookies to identify unique sessions but does not track users across other websites. No passwords, payment details, or sensitive form inputs are captured — Clarity automatically masks these fields. Data is processed by Microsoft in accordance with their privacy statement. You can opt out of Clarity tracking by enabling "Do Not Track" in your browser settings.
- Purchase information — when you buy a license, your payment is processed by our payment provider. We receive your email address and license key for order fulfillment. We do not store credit card details.
In the StreamStash app
- Nothing. The app runs locally on your machine. No telemetry, no usage tracking, no analytics, no phone-home. Your data never leaves your network.
- License validation — when you activate a license key, the app contacts our server once to verify the key. Only the license key is transmitted — no personal data, no usage information, no content metadata.
What We Don't Collect
- What you download or archive
- Which platforms or creators you track
- Your browser cookies or platform credentials
- Your IP address (from the app)
- Any content metadata, filenames, or library information
Third-Party Services
Payment processing
Payments are processed by our payment provider. Their privacy policy governs the handling of your payment information. We only receive your email address and transaction ID.
Website analytics
Umami — an open-source, cookie-free analytics service hosted by Umami Cloud. Collects: page views, referrer URLs, browser type, operating system, device type, and country (derived from IP, which is not stored). Does not collect: IP addresses, personal information, or cross-site tracking data. Umami privacy policy.
Microsoft Clarity — a free behaviour analytics service by Microsoft, used on this marketing website only. Clarity is not installed in the StreamStash desktop application and has no access to the app, your downloads, or your machine. Collects: anonymised click, scroll, and movement data; session recordings with sensitive fields automatically masked; heatmaps. May set first-party cookies for session identification. Does not collect: keystrokes in password or payment fields, personal identification across sites. Data is processed by Microsoft under their privacy statement. You can opt out by enabling your browser's "Do Not Track" setting.
Data Storage
- Your media library — stored locally on your machine in the directory you configure. We have no access.
- App database — a local SQLite file on your machine. We have no access.
- Browser cookies — read locally by the app for platform authentication. Never transmitted to us or any third party.
- Telegram sessions — stored locally on your machine. Never transmitted.
Your Rights
Since we collect minimal data, there's very little to manage. However, you have the right to:
- Request deletion of your email address from our purchase records
- Request a copy of any data we hold about you (this will be limited to your email and license key)
- Opt out of any marketing emails (we don't send any by default)
Children's Privacy
StreamStash is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as needed. Material changes will be communicated via the website. Continued use of the Software or website constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
