Add a Twitch channel and StreamStash records the broadcast the moment it goes live, with no need to be at the machine. It also grabs saved VODs, highlights and clips, so you keep a permanent copy even when a stream is never saved or the VOD later expires.
Record live, and keep the VODs too.
A channel's own VOD is deleted after a few weeks, and plenty of streams are never saved as a VOD at all. StreamStash records the broadcast as it happens, so the copy is permanently yours, with the full audio a VOD may mute for music. Add the channel once and it handles both the live recording and the saved content.
Ad breaks skipped for you
Twitch plays ads into the stream itself, so a break can land in the recording. StreamStash marks each one on the scrub bar and skips it automatically during playback, so you watch the stream, not the adverts.
Chat saved as it happens
A VOD you download brings its chat replay with it, free on every tier. Live capture is for the gaps: a stream that never becomes a VOD, or one whose VOD expires before you get to it, has no chat to fetch afterwards. It also attaches chat to your own recording rather than to the channel's copy. Power tier.
Also archives saved content: monitor a channel for its VODs, highlights and clips, or paste a single VOD or clip into Quick Download. Where you have both a live recording and the channel's own VOD of a broadcast, StreamStash tells you which copy is fuller so you can keep the better one.

Twitch Stories
Twitch creators post stories, the 48-hour vertical photo and video posts above your Following list. Switch Stories on for a channel and they are saved into that channel's feed before they expire. Twitch only shows stories to followers, so this needs you signed into twitch.tv in Firefox and following the channel. The feed tells you which of the two is missing rather than quietly showing nothing.
Older VODs, highlights and clips
Channels now fetch up to 100 VODs and highlights instead of 12, which is normally the lot given Twitch deletes them after a few weeks. Clips go deeper still: a channel's first scan combines several of Twitch's own clip listings to pull hundreds of clips, including ones from years back. A Deep scan button runs the full pass again whenever a channel has built up since you last looked.
Two chats, one timeline
For creators who stream to Twitch and Kick at once, group their two accounts and both audiences show against the same recording, interleaved by timestamp with a coloured dot marking which platform each message came from. Nothing extra is downloaded when you already record both. Buttons on the chat rail switch between Both, Twitch and Kick. Power tier, alongside live chat capture itself.
Renames are followed: when a Twitch channel stops being reachable, StreamStash checks whether the creator simply changed their handle. If they did, the feed, its history, its monitor, its recordings and the folder on disk all move to the new name on their own, and their past usernames stay searchable.

Yes. Twitch, including live recording, is on the free tier. Monitors share one allowance across every platform, so recording a Twitch channel uses one of your monitor slots. Saved VOD chat replay is free too. Capturing chat live during the recording, and auto-clipping from it, are Power features.
Yes. Switch Stories on for a Twitch channel and its 48-hour stories are saved into that channel's feed before they expire. Twitch only shows stories to followers, so it needs you signed into twitch.tv in Firefox and following that channel; if either is missing the feed says which. Subscriber-only stories still need you to be subscribed, exactly as they would in the Twitch app.
Only when the content is available to the account and browser/session StreamStash can legitimately use. It is not designed to bypass Twitch access controls.
The VOD can still be saved, but chat replay is only kept when Twitch still makes it available and chat capture is enabled.
